Autograph Letter Signed, "Charles" by one of General Keyes' adjutants, 4 pages, October 13, 1862, Headquarters 4th Army Corps, Yorktown, VA, 8" x 5", Choice Very Fine. To his uncle, complaining about the lack of action: "...we grew so irksome under the peace restraint that we took the Gunboats and made a Reconnaissance up to West Point, and encountered nothing at all." Clear script in brown ink, few smudges.
