Yaacov Agam was born in 1928 in Rishon Lezion, Israel. He studied at the Bezalel School of Art in Jerusalem. In 1951 he traveled to Paris and two years later, in 1953, opened at the Craven Gallery an exhibition composed of kinetic moveable and transferable paintings. That event is considered the first one man show exclusively devoted to kinetic art. Agam's work is related to the rejection of the traditional concepts of painting and sculpture in favor of the kinetic and op art. His paintings and three dimensional. Star of David is a beautiful gold plated work with created in a very small edition of only 9 copies. As in many of Agam's work, this one has a kinetic element - the inner part of the star is moveable. Agam was preoccupied by the Star of David and created several dynamic and kinetic versions of this important symbol.
