February 23, 1756, Payment Order for Foxes Killed, Sandwich, MA, 3.5" x 3.75", Fine.
Measuring 3.5" x 3.75", this document orders Silas Brown, Town Treasurer, to pay to Ichabod Perry fourteen shillings for seven foxes killed within the town. Signed by Selectmen John Freeman, Sam.ll Tupper, and Thos. Smith. Foxes had to be brought to a selectman and the foxes' ears cut off as proof. A bounty of two shillings per fox was then paid.
