French & Indian War Era Massachusetts Military Summons
1765, Massachusetts Military Summons, by Capt. William Taylor, to John Green, Very Fine.
Dated at Boston, September 9, 1765, this partially printed document, measuring 3" x 3.75," reads: "Sir, In His Majesty's Name you are hereby required to appear at your Colours, at the usual Place of Parade, this Evening, at Six o'Clock, with Arms and Ammunition according to Law, in Order for a Military Watch. Hereof fail not. (signed) Wm. Taylor, Capt. - To (handwritten) Mr. John Green." Ink leakage at the top has caused a tiny ink burn. Tipped to a dark color board background, this Colonial Era document has small corner repairs, and is otherwise in nice condition.
