Colonial Sailing Ship Rigging Pulley
c. 1804, Pulley from the Schooner "Bolivar", New York, Choice Extremely Fine.
4.5" long and 2" wide, a wooden rigging pulley with a rope knot and two grooved wooden wheels. Excellent craftsmanship; made from sturdy wood and wiry rope. The wood is smooth in most places, but has acquired some rough edges, likely through use. The rope is strong and hardened, its shape has molded over time and it is now inseparable from the wooden portions. Thought to have been assembled as part of the Schooner "Bolivar", built by Captain Paul Sherman. An interesting nautical, maritime item and very easily museum quality.
