Rare Pennsylvania State Navy Pay Order Signed by General James Irvine

JAMES IRVINE, Revolutionary War Brigadier General from Pennsylvania.
Partially Printed Document Signed, "James Irvine" in brown ink on watermarked, laid paper, April 14, 1785, Philadelphia, PA, 6.5" x 7.75", Choice Extremely Fine. Pay Order used to certify the payment of the interest due to Captain William Watkins of the State Navy in the sum of £15 13s 3d. Irvine was a Brigadier General from Pennsylvania in the Revolutionary War. He was wounded and captured by the British and was later exchanged in 1781. Immediately after his return he once again entered into the war. Also signed by John Nicholson, the Comptroller General of Pennsylvania. Slight age-tone with some frayed edges, overall being in excellent condition with the text still bold and precise in appearance.
