Portrait Of King George III Engraved By William Angus

July 2, 1785, Portrait of King George III, Engraved by William Angus, After a Painting by Reynolds, Choice Near Mint.
This portrait of King George III, of Revolutionary War fame, measures 7.5" x 4.5" and was engraved in England by William Angus, based on a painting by Reynolds. The full length portrait shows the king in ornate robes with the royal crown and other jewels. This print has the publishing information at the bottom: "Published July 2, 1785, by J. Fielding, Pater Noster Row (London)." This print was likely the frontispiece from a British magazine, and has uneven margins from having been cut from the magazine. Nevertheless, this scarce 18th century print is in excellent condition, with a little light foxing and a small chip out of the lower left margin (not affecting the print). This original, historic, 200 year old print is ready to be matted and framed.
