Uncolored engraving, 7.5" x 5.5" image on 10.75" x 8" sheet. Fashioned after "the original Picture by Chappel," featuring a standing Samuel Adams, holding a rod in his right hand, and stepping on a "Pardon," which lists Gen. Gage but does not pardon the "Rebels" "Saml. Adams" and "Jno. Hancock." In the background is an endtable with a book and a sheet of paper with the title: "Sons of Liberty / Boston." Facsimile of Adams's signature in the wide margin below image. Very light staining along the edges.
