This stipple engraved portrait of President George Washington, by German engraver, F. Rosmaster, is printed on heavy paper measuring 7.75" x 4.5," the left and right sides having been trimmed. Rosmaster, who was active around 1820, has placed his name below the oval frame of the portrait, above the title, which is given in German. The portrait itself is sharp and in great condition. The white areas around the portrait contain some light soiling, toning and some stray ink marks in the upper left corner. An interesting European interpretation of Washington.
