Washington's Expenses Commanding Continental Army

1917, Book titled: "George Washington's Accounts of Expenses While Commander In Chief of the Continental Army 1775-1783," Limited Edition of 440 copies, of which this is #186, Very Fine.
This limited edition, facsimile copy of General George Washington's accounts and expenses ledger, was prepared and annotated by John C. Fitzpatrick, Assistant Chief of the Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress. Published in a limited edition of only 440 copies by the Riverside Press of Cambridge, MA in 1917, this 13.25" x 8.75" hard cover book contains 155 pages, including an extensive index. The title page contains a small engraving of Washington's Headquarters, separated by a tissue sheet from the frontispiece portrait of Washington, with a facsimile of his signature below. There is a bookplate from an unnamed library inside the front cover, but there are no other library markings in the book, other than numbering on the spine. The contents of this book are in excellent condition, with a few pages still unopened (uncut). The cover is worn, chipped and bumped along the edges, and the spine is soiled, otherwise the spine and binding are solid and tight. There are some pencil notations on the front flyleaf.
