Engraved Portraits of Notable Men of the 1700s

c. 1800's, Lot of 5 Portrait Prints of Prominent Men of the 1700's, Including Patrick Henry, John Hancock, Rufus Putnam and Edmund Burke, Very Fine to Extremely Fine.
This group of prints are all printed on heavy paper with blank backs, removed from various books, 2 in 10.5" x 8" format, 1 in 9.5" x 6.5" size, and the last 2 mounted on an 11" x 14" card. 1. JOHN HANCOCK, engraved by John Rogers, with small vignette of the "Riots at Boston March 5th 1770" below, in very nice condition, though with numerous age spots. 2. RUFUS PUTNAM, unsigned engraving in choice condition. 3. Edmund Burke, published by Johnson, Wilson & Company of New York, and dated 1873, in excellent condition with some very light age toning mostly in the margins. 4. & 5. PATRICK HENRY, 5.5" X 7" engraving by H.B. Hall, "Patrick Henry Addressing the Virginia Assembly," excellent condition, trimmed and mounted to card. On the other side of this card is a 4.5" x 3" portrait of Henry engraved by Leney, moderately toned, trimmed and mounted to the card. A nice group of prints which could be framed and displayed. (4 items - 1 with 2 prints).
