A beautiful Third Republic (1870-1951) specimen in silver and multi-color enamels with the centers in fine gold, mounted on the original silk ribbon. The L‚gion d'honneur or Ordre national de la L‚gion d'honneur is a French order established by Napol‚on on May 19, 1802. This world-renowned Order is the highest decoration in France. General Eisenhower is among the Americans who have received the decoration. A charming little example of one of the world's most popular and well known orders. In excellent condition.
