John Wayne "True Grit" Costume

John Wayne's costume from "True Grit." (Paramount, 1969). Wine colored cotton long sleeve shirt with fabric-backed, lined suede vest, with collars, and embroidery. The vest shows some whitening on the front, almost as sweat stains and salt. The label reads "Western Costume Co / Hollywood / No. 2249-3 / Name John Wayne / Chest 49 Sleeve 36 / Collar 18 1/2." Worn by Wayne in the role of frontier marshall Rooster Cogburn. Wayne won an Academy Award for Best Actor. Together with a related still.
