This wooden humidor, custom-made for John F. Kennedy, captures the essence of one of the great loves of the 35th President of the United States. JFK's taste for fine cigars and his aficionado status is especially interesting given that he is primarily responsible for the Cuban trade embargo, still in effect. According to Kennedy speechwriter and advisor Richard Goodwin, "before signing the order [for the embargo], Kennedy sent Pierre Salinger, and possibly others, to buy up a large proportion of the Cuban cigars still in Washington stores." This unique humidor is inscribed with the words "President Kennedy" on top and contains 25 unopened, individually wrapped Alhambra cigars. (Please note: the cigars have not been opened, but are not for consumption.) Each cigar has "Specially made for President Kennedy" printed in gold on the wrapper. 10.5" x 7" Sale History: Guernsey's, March 1998
