Correspondence from those involved in the Jack Ruby case to Lee Israel, the biographer of Dorothy Kilgallen, famous woman reporter and only media person Ruby allowed an interview during the trial. Four of the letters are from Ruby's lawyers, Melvin Belli and Joe Tonahill, on personal stationery and are dated from 1976 to 1979. Israel has placed a check mark beside the parts of the letters that she quotes in her book on Kilgallen. There is one letter to Israel from Mark Lane, one of the first people to question in print the findings of the Warren Commission, concerning the impending release of classified material regarding the assassination from the House Select Committee. Israel has written notes in ink on the verso of this letter. The last letter is from Phyllis C. Wagner concernng Murder One, Kilgallen's posthumously finished book. Also includes a glossy black and white photograph of Ruby with Belli and Tonahill signed by Tonahill, "For Lee Israel, Best Wishes, Joe," in blue ink and a handwritten note from Israel to Robert White concerning a payment of $350.00 that is due and a notecard signed by Kilgallen, "To Ralph-Best Wishes, Dorothy Kilgallen," on December 3, 1938.
