Four letters written to and from Martha Ligon, New Jersey resident who supported sparing the life of Jack Ruby: 1. Letter typed on onionskin to Texas Governor John Connally from Martha Ligon asking for Jack Ruby to be pardoned, dated March 28, 1964. She felt Connally might be responsive to her proposal since he had personally "felt the sting of the assassin's bullets." Good condition with slight creasing. 11 x 8 1/2; 2. Signed letter from Governor Connally to Mrs. Ligon responding to her earlier letter requesting that Ruby's life be spared. Typed on Texas Executive Department letterhead. Good condition. 11 x 8 1/2; 3. Signed letter from Eileen Kaminsky, Jack Ruby's sister, thanking Mrs. Ligon for sending her letter to Governor Connally. Typed letter is dated April 13, 1964. Good condition. 8 1/2 x 11; 4. Handwritten two-page letter and envelope from Jack Ruby thanking Mrs. Ligon for her efforts on his behalf dated April 12, 1964.
