Jack Ruby wrote this emotional letter describing his visit to the JFK assassination site on November 23, 1963, the day before he killed Lee Harvey Oswald. Not dated or signed by Jack Ruby, it is signed in red ink "Earl Ruby", his brother and the executor of his estate. The letter consists of five sheets of standard prison stationary, written front and back to make a ten page letter. It opens with the chilling and fatalistic words..."That was the beginning of the end for me." Throughout, Ruby refers to his bouts of crying as he visited the location, saw the wreaths, and saw individuals he knew there. He mentions dashing across a busy road and not caring whether he was hit, and also describes an encounter with local police figures who would be near him when he shot Oswald.
