Rare ALS to Mr. Roach signed "Jack Ruby" in pencil, 1p. (Dallas), 1964 February 22. To Mr. Roach. During the period of jury selection for his murder trail, Jack Ruby heard that his lawyers, Melvin Belli and Joe Tonahill, were taking their wives out for dinner so he wrote this note to the owner of a restaurant in Dallas. In full, "I'd like to be with my friends Mel & Joe tonite. Please take as good care of them & their wives tonite as they are taking care of me. Your friend, Jack Ruby."
