Jack Ruby wrote this letter from jail nine days prior to jury selection for his trial. Handwritten in pencil, it is not signed, and is dated "1/25/64" in ink in an unidentified hand at the top of the first page. There is a photocopy of the first page signed by Earl Ruby, Jack's brother and the executor of his estate, identifying the letter "Jack Ruby's/Handwriting/Earl Ruby". The letter starts out describing Ruby's perception of an individual who "...suddenly feels he has a chance to gain his recognition back by taking a strong lead" in his case. He goes on to write that he doesn't trust that person, that he has "caught him in a few lies", that he doesn't deserve a "cut of the money". The letter consists of 14 pages. 4" x 6"
