Partly printed AGVA union nightclub contract DS "Jack Ruby mgr./Sec-Treas" 1 p. Dallas, 1960 July 30. Breck Wall is hired as a "performer consisting of five persons" at Ruby's Sovereign Club for six days per week for six weeks at $100 per week. Also signed "Breck Wall." From the "Warren Report" Appendix XVI, in part, "Ruby frequently encountered difficulties with the American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA)...He unsuccessfully sought modification of AGVA's policy permitting 'amateur' strippers, inexperienced girls paid less than union-scale wages, to perform at union houses. Ruby apparently believed his two competitors, the Weinstein brothers, were scheduling amateur shows in a manner calculated to destroy his business....In addition to meeting with AGVA officials, he (Ruby) called upon several acquaintances, including known criminals, who, he thought, could influence AGVA on his behalf." The "Warren Report" concluded that "the evidence does not establish a signficant link between Ruby and organized crime." 8 1/2 x 11" Sale History: Herman Darvick Autograph Auctions, December 1992
