Sign In to see what this sold for

Letter written by Jack Ruby from jail. Written in pencil on three sheets of paper and unsigned. His brother Earl Ruby has signed a photo copy of the first page identifying it as "Jack Ruby's Handwriting / Earl Ruby." Ruby writes about an incident as his night club. In full, "One of the girls working at the Carousel Club had some trouble with her husband whose name was Big Bad John. One night she came in with a black eye and I told her that I wouldn't have her work if she was going to have trouble with her husband, she said that she had him under peace bond, well I let her come to work and it wasn't more than a couple of days later he came up to the club and asked to speak to his wife and I saw her go with him to the hallway and the stairs that lead out to the street and I anticipated some trouble and I informed Lt. Gilmore about same and before Lt. Gilmore could get there, this fellow came running back into the club and started to call me insulting names and immediately I hit him in the mouth. Lt. Gilmore told me this fellow was going to sue me." 2 1/2", 4" x 6". Sale History: Herman Darvick Autograph Auctions, April 1993
