Two handwritten notes that Jack Ruby passed on to his lawyer, famous defense attorney Melvin Bell, during his 1964 trial for the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald. Both notes are in pencil in both block letters and cursive on small sheets of white paper and contain directives such as, He said I came out of the crowd-Incorrect" and Important, The gun did not have a hammer and is almost impossible to stop from firing even if you grasp same." Ruby was found guilty of murder on March 14, 1964 and was sentenced to death. He won a retail due to procedural errors but died in prison in 1967 before a new trial could be called.
