Brown velvet jacket worn by John Lennon in "Imagine" (Joko, 1973). Consisting of a fitted two button jacket with colored embroidery throughout by Renoma. Label reads in full: "Renoma/Made in France/Paris." This jacket was worn by Lennon while he is performing "Imagine" in the opening scene of the film with the same name (Joko, 1973), which was made to promote the album, also of the same name (Capitol Records, 1971). The jacket was later given by Lennon to Richard Ross, the owner of the New York club and restaurant "Home". The fantasy footage shows a day in the life of Lennon and Yoko Ono, set to Lennon's "Imagine" LP and Ono's avant garde "Fly" LP (Rykodisc, 1971). The film was directed by Lennon with Steve Gebhardt, who previously worked with the couple on "Ten for Two" (Vaughan Films, 1971) and the short film "Fly." Together with a facsimile copy of a letter of authenticity. Sale History: Julien's Auctions, October 2005
