The suits worn by the Beatles for their first album cover "Please Please Me" (1963). The four suits have three buttons down the front, black velvet collar and cuffs, and red/crimson lining. Each inside jacket pocket inscribed with each Beatles full name and year. They were also worn on the single album cover "Love Me Do P.S. I Love You" and "Love Me Do" single album cover. The lot includes documentation from Gordon Millings, whose father Dougie Millings was the Beatles official tailor from 1962 to 1967. Together with the cover of "Please Please Me", showing the Beatles wearing the suits. This was the only set made of this pattern, which is distinguished from the the collarless version of which many copies were made. Sale History: Bonhams & Butterfields, November 2004
