Ballpoint pen signature appears at close of letter dated Jan. 13, 1966 which reads, in full: "This is just a short note thanking you for the nice gift which you sent me for Christmas. I certainly do appreciate your thoughtfulness in remembering me. I always enjoy hearing from each of my fans. My very best wishes to you and yours for a very Happy and Prosperous New Years."
