Burgess Meredith Penguin Costume From "Batman"

Burgess Meredith's costume from "Batman" (ABC-TV, 1966-68). Black and champagne satin jockey shirt with champagne satin wing collar, bib front and cuffs. Satin circular patches on to the front and back, each with oval felt inserts stenciled in grey with the Penguin's signature motif (top hat, cigarette holder and umbrella). Together with a pair of beige riding breeches and a black silk faille bow tie. This outfit was worn by Meredith, in the role of Penguin. It is seen in "The Sport of Penguins" (October 5, 1967) and/or "A Horse of Another Color" (October 12, 1967). Together with a production still of the Penguin and actress Ethel Merman in the role of Lola Lasagne. Sale History: Profiles In History, July 2005
