Subtitle: Description:40th President of the United States.˙Partly Printed Document Signed. California Governor Reagan extradites a suspect from Nevada. Four pages, folio, n.p. (Sacramento), December 2, 1968. The document reads: "Whereas,... in accordance with the laws of the State of California... Vernon C.R. Caudell stands charged with the crime of child stealing... and it has been represented and satisfactorily shown to me that the accused was present in this State and at the time of the commission of said crime... and has taken refuge and is now to be found in the State of Nevada ...I do hereby respectfully demand that the said... fugitive from justice, be arrested and secured and delivered to this State..." The document has a large embossed gold seal of the State of California and is boldly signed "Ronald Reagan". Behind the cover document are supporting documents, which are removable. Clean and fresh as the day it was signed. Framed in burl wood against a crushed blue velvet background with a color photo of Reagan and a bronze identification plaque.
