oil on canvas, unsigned, verso retains old paper gallery label reading "Leon Garland / St. Tropez no. 7 (oil) / France, 1930 / 18 1/4" x 23 3/4" / Price: ," view overlooking the town and across to the shore beyond, housed in a period, likely original, gilt and paint decorated frame; Born in Borbruisk, Russia, Garland emigrated to the US in 1913 and eventually settled in Chicago. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Hull House School of Art, where he later taught textile and metal craft classes. SS 17.75" x 21.25"; DOA 22.5" x 25.5"
