Pierre de Clausade (French, 1910-1976), The Seine,
oil on canvas, signed lower left "P. de Clausade," winter scene along the Seine executed in a precisionist manner, housed in the original painted and gilt wood frame with linen liner and gallery plaque, inscribed en verso " 20f. 73x60. Neige Sur Paris / Quai des Orfevres - 68." Clausade exhibited at the Soceite des Beaux Arts and was a member of the Salon d'Hiver. His works were in numerous public and private collections, including the Boston and Minneapolis Museums of Fine Arts. This painting was featured on the cover of the artist's biography published by Frost & Reed, Ltd. (a copy is included with the lot). SS 22.5" x 27.5"; DOA 32.5" x 37.5"
