Codan US Military Silver Gilt Presentation Tray,
the Codan silver house in Mexico City is recognized for creating fine work in the Danish tradition, this tray was likely a custom commission as the silver gilt on the rim corresponds to the gilt ship engraving on the tray, center with engraved presentation inscription reading "(Armada de Mexico seal with gilt wreath) / Almirante Antonio Vazquez de Mercado / Secretario de Marina de Mexico / al / Almirante Thomas H. Moorer / Jefe de Operaciones Navales / Armada Norteamericana / Febrero 1970 / (gilded engraving of ship) / USS Salisbury Sound," with sterling Codan hallmark and eagle 7. Provenance: Admiral Thomas H. Moorer. 24.25" x 18.25" approximately 86 troy ozs.

Very fine estate condition with only a few expected light surface scratches.
