late-18th c., probably VA, mahogany, shaped crest rail with pierced back splat having central heart flanked by large teardrop, molded seat rail and front leg, chamfered back leg, stretcher base, slip seat with later blocks, fine old surface. 37" x 20.5" x 19"

Hairline to right stile rear., some joint looseness at front leg.
