Demuth Smoking Punch Cigar Advertising Figure Description Circa 1885 This zinc counter display features Punch with expressive face exaggerated nose, chomping on a cigar in the corner of his mouth, while clutching a selection with his right hand His left hand is raised, with his forefinger extended in a beckoning gesture He is dressed in typical Punch outfit with perched cap, ruffled collar, red waistcoat and green pants The figure is also outfitted with a device which simulates him happily puffing his cigars, while standing on a plaque which reads WM Demuth & Co Manufacturers New York Some spots of paint wear and old repair to right arm Best example of only a few known Provenance LC Hegarty Collection Condition (EXCELLENT) Size 18" T
