(German, born 1849), barmaid holding champagne flute and an open bottle of champagne, signed upper left "Joseph Lieck/1897", oil on canvas, 30-1/2 x 25-5/8 in.; early 20th century gilt wood and composition liner. Lined (possibly with glue), abrasion top left with paint loss, crackle, canvas loose, retouch on bottle, in background, hair, face, some on collar, less than 10 percent of surface affected; liner repainted, abrasions.
