bronze pediment with seated classical woman holding architectural implements, mounted on polished slate case with bronze plaques, classical figures representing scholarship and music, face marked "…Aug…Lemaire…Paris", brass works with matching marks, paw feet with Egyptian motifs, 23 x 18 x 9 in. Chips to slate case, bronze with old mellow patination, possibly lacking one element at base of pediment. Provenance: Private Collection, Burgaw, North Carolina
