seven lines over heart shaped cartouche surrounded by trees with birds perched in branches, small animals, heart and crown motifs, stitched within cartouche "Read Faney Bornd [sic] March 24 Aged 11 years July 16 1795(?)", arcaded strawberry vine border, silk on linen, probably American, 11-3/4 x 11-3/4 in.; possibly original wood frame. Fading, minor losses and repairs, grime, holes at edges where tacked to stretcher, unmounted to cardboard backing; scratches and repairs to frame. Provenance: A Greenville, South Carolina Collection
