Sailor's shell valentine,

multi-colored shells and possibly some beads in octagonal wooden cases, one with circular central medallion "For My Pet", opposing side with central heart design with floral borders, top of case figured walnut or mahogany, pine base, splined joints, British or American, mid 19th century, 2-1/2 x 8-3/4 x 8-7/8 in. Good condition, several shells loose but present in the interior; case with fine old patinated surface with some separations. Provenance: The Estate of the Late William L. Montague, Jr., Lookout Mountain, Tennessee
