Irish 1844 bulbous teapot, hallmarks for Dublin 1844. Maker mark R.S, believed to be Richard Sawyer. Ornately embossed with sunflowers, roses, gourd and vine knob, applied bird spout. Scroll handle broken at ivory heat rings. Footed base. Monogrammed with family crest and initial J. Measures 12 1/4" wide, by 6 1/2" tall. Well cared for, good patina, minor wear marks.
