ABT: Scarce Lionel #2457 Tuscan Caboose/OB

Sign In to see what this sold for

Paul V. Ambrose and Drew J. Bauer present: This is the #2457 Illuminated Pennsylvania Metal Caboose that Lionel made in late 1945/early 1946. Flying Shoe Couplers; Whirly Wheels. A Rare color variation in Tuscan rather than the common Red (but beware that you can put this together from a pre-war caboose and a red #2457 with some effort). Our Opinion is that it is generally in Excellent Condition, was cleaned sometime ago with WD-40 or similar type of oil-based liquid. The Caboose appears to us and to others that have examined it to be Original and proper, but there are signs that it has most probably been taken apart (a necessary evil for some in order to change the light bulb). As such, do not get carried away in your bidding. The Original SF-1 Box is in (7+) Condition, missing a tuck-in flap. Please add $12.00 for US-48 Shipping and Insurance.
