Condition/Details: Bound in gilt embossed calfskin, this very scarce antique book is a scarce catalogue of trotting horses, including the complete pedigree and records of 271 horses from the Village Farm in the Village of East Aurora, New York. The title page lists C. J. Hamlin as the proprietor, while the cover is gilt embossed "With the Compliments of Geo. W. Gibbs". The work is illustrated with many illustrations of noteworthy horses including members of the World's Team Record. The volume shows some mild external wear, with some of the outer spine lacking with lightly toned pages, and is solidly bound with clean pages; the equestrian illustrations all show beautifully.
