Publisher: Alexander Donaldson
Printing Year: 1778
Condition/Details: Bound in calfskin with raised spine bands, this antique book is a scarce printing of John Locke's famous work. The work is beautifully typeset in typical 18th century typefaces. The volume shows some external wear, with a nearly detached front board, and is otherwise solidly bound with clear, somewhat age toned pages, a few of which are creased at the corners. The front board bears a owner's bookplate indicating that the book was owned by Samuel Douglas, the father of Harriet Douglas Cruger who had the Cruger Mansion, later the Henderson House and Gelston Castle, built on the plan of a Scottish castle. The book measures approximately 4" x 7" and contains 271 pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
