Paul V. Ambrose and Drew J. Bauer present: This is the Original Set Box for the #423E Freight Set that Lionel made in Standard Gauge circa 1932. This Set would have included the #400E Black Steam Engine, the #400T Black Tender, the #211 Flat Car, the #212 Gondola, the #213 Cattle Car, the #214 Box Car, the #215 Tank Car, the #216 Coal Car (Hopper) and the #217 Caboose. The Largest and Most Expensive Standard Gauge Freight Set ever offered by Lionel or any other manufacturer. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ONLY BIDDING ON THE ORIGINAL SET BOX. This Original Early Set Box is in (8+) Condition, minor wear. A Great Label, this is probably one of the nicest examples of this Set Box that you will ever have an opportunity to own, since this Set was so heavy and bulky that most of these Boxes got destroyed when shipped to the Dealers. 25 3/4" x 13 1/4" x 16 1/2".
