“Napoleon” Signed Italian Military Decree NAPOLEON BONAPARTE. Manuscript Document Signed, “Napoleon” as Chief of the Army of Italy, on the back of an official Italian decree, July 9, 1795, 13.25” x 9,” Fine or better. Ragged right margin with a couple of minor tape repairs, slight wear, overall very nice condition. An unusual format, completely written in manuscript, perhaps in haste. Bonaparte writes to General Kellerman, Commander-in-chief of the Army of the Alps, asking him to send reinforcements to the army in Italy even if only partially equipped. In part: “...send two pieces of cannon with each battalion, a company of engineers and scouts, and 2 or 3 artillery officers...” Boldly signed at the conclusion with an early form of his signature.
