Autographs
“Napoleon” Signed Italian Military Decree

NAPOLEON BONAPARTE.
Manuscript Document Signed, “Napoleon” as Chief of the Army of Italy, on the back of an official Italian decree, July 9, 1795, 13.25” x 9,” Fine or better. Ragged right margin with a couple of minor tape repairs, slight wear, overall very nice condition. An unusual format, completely written in manuscript, perhaps in haste. Bonaparte writes to General Kellerman, Commander-in-chief of the Army of the Alps, asking him to send reinforcements to the army in Italy even if only partially equipped. In part: “...send two pieces of cannon with each battalion, a company of engineers and scouts, and 2 or 3 artillery officers...” Boldly signed at the conclusion with an early form of his signature.
