(GEORGE SYKES), 19th Century Congressman.
Folded Letter Cover Free Franked and addressed to “The Hon. George Sykes, M.C./ Washington, D.C.,” stamped “May 7 [1844] Princeton, N.J.,” 10” x 8,” Fine. Inside letter written and signed “S[tacy] A. Paxson,” who sends an article of agreement between J.G. Hathaway and William Mershan, which was to be recorded in the Patent Office. Lightly toned letter with edge splits and erosion from an old wax seal.
