Large Signed 1981 “Varga” Calendar


ALBERTO VARGA, Artist, Creator of the “Varga Girl.”
Color Calendar Inscribed and Signed, “To Felicia from Roberto with Love, 1981,” 12 pages plus covers, “21” x 16,” Extremely Fine. Varga signs on the bottom of the front cover. The top right edge of the cover has begun to detach from the spiral binding, but the inside pages are all clean and nice. Each page features Varga’s classic rendering of the female form, always in seductive poses, sometimes scantily clad, sometimes partially nude. A magnificent display piece. Accompanied by a copy of a 1948 newspaper photo of Varga, his wife (the original Varga Girl), and Felicia Glied (Mrs. Carl Metzger and the recipient of this calendar) at the Laguna Beach Arts Festival.
