Bounty Hunter Receipt, 1798

Bounty Hunter’s Receipt, July 8, 1798, Boston, MA, 2.25” x 7.5”, Fine.
Manuscript on fine white laid paper, gray ink, light toning to sheet. Josiah TeoŃŃ signs in a shaky hand that he received five pounds and ten pence from Stephen Hall “which was my bounty.” The bounty was probably for killing foxes. The heads had to be brought in as proof and the ears were then cut off.
