American Revolution
Impressive 6% Bond

1783 Commonwealth of Massachusetts, £9 2 Shillings 6 Pence, Anderson MA-34, Choice Extremely Fine.
7” x 7.25.” A superb condition example for this type, hand dated 1783 and bearing a payment of 6% per Annum. There are four manuscript interest endorsements and a small hole cancel, indicating that this bond was eventually redeemed. A lovely specimen, very difficult to find in finer condition. This bond illustrates how Massachusetts helped to finance the struggle for American Liberty.
