Choice Revolutionary War Era Canteen

Revolutionary War Canteen, Choice Very Fine.
c. 1775, 6.5” diameter wooden canteen is 2.5” thick. Three leather strips are fastened with brads along the circumference, where they once held in place a carrying strap. Original dark bluish-green paint still covers the surface of the canteen with obvious wear to the surface and edges, consistent with its age and attesting further to its authentication from the Revolutionary War period. Original plug is missing, but has been replaced with a modern cork plug. A choice example overall.
