c. 1783 Print, “The Celebrated Battle of Culloden in Scotland; in which the Rebels were subdued, (upwards of 1200 being killed in the space of only forty minutes) by the Late Duke of Cumberland, April 16, 1746,” Extremely Fine. Overall size 15” x 9.5,” taken from Barnard’s “New Complete & Authentic History of England.” The scene depicts a ferocious battle in which plaid-wearing Scots are being defeated badly.
