Six Prints from the American Edition of Maynard’s “Josephus”

c. 1790 Six Prints from the American Edition of Maynard’s “Josephus,” Very Fine or better.
An interesting lot of three prints illustrating popular stories from the Old Testament. Each print measures approximately 15” x 9 (the actual image size is smaller due to the margins that surround it) and each was pulled from a copy of the American edition of Maynard’s “Josephus” (published in the early 1790s). Each print has been trimmed slightly along the right edge and each appears lightly toned. Individual pieces may have some light dampstaining, scattered foxing, and/or “ghosts” of the text where the ink burned softly into the paper. Illustrations include: Moses and the Burning Bush, The Prophet Nathan Rebuking King David, Gideon’s Sacrifice, Sampson Killing the Lion, Adam Giving Names, and Ruth. All of these would make nice wall displays if suitably framed. (6 prints)
