Hand-colored lithograph of Wat-Che-Mon-Ne, an Ioway Chief, 1838, McKinney & Hall print by Greenough & Bowen, Philadelphia, 19” x 13.25”, matted to 21.25” x 15.5”, Fine. Light even overall tone, very trivial 1/4” x 1” extreme edge loss at top left corner and some along the extreme outer left edge, which can be easily matted out or trimmed. The Chief wears a pink shirt and is draped with a deep blue wrap; around his neck is his Chief’s Large Size, Round Indian Peace Medal and both ears sport several adorning earrings.
